This event is being held in the run up to the 2011 Tokyo Marathon, which will be held on Sunday February 27. The event will promote the Tokyo Marathon and introduce the course that will be run, as well as feature a fashion show of spring running wear and accessories. There will also be a special talk featuring food specialist Shiori about what she has called run gohan (‘running food’), which contains all of the nutrients necessary for runners. Those interested in attending should access the event website (www.tokyo42195festa.com/), or send a reply-paid postcard (ofuku hagaki). If you are going to send a postcard, the name of the applicant, their address, phone number, age and gender, as well as if they will compete in the 2011 Tokyo Marathon or not, needs to be written on the back of the part of the card that won’t be sent back (oshin hagaki). It should be sent to: Tokyo Runners Collection Jimukyoku, Ark Mori Building Post Office Kyokudome, 107-6003. Up to 600 people will be accepted, and successful applicants will be informed by e-mail or postcard. The application period is Wednesday December 1 to Monday December 27. (Reply-paid postcards postmarked by the deadline will be accepted).
