Tokyo's iconic tower reached its eighth anniversary back in May, but celebrations were temporarily put on hold due to the coronavirus. Now, Skytree is ramping up the celebrations by offering half-price tickets to its obeservation decks (until October 4) as well as a limited number of free honey jars – 634 to be exact, which represents the tower's height in metres.
Tickets to visit both the first (350m-high) and second (450m-high) observation decks now cost ¥1,550 for adults while tickets to just the first observation deck will only set you back ¥1,050 (both prices are after discount). The free honey jars will be given out on Thursday October 1 during Skytree's belated anniversary event, but you'll have to line up at 9am to get a ticket for one (while stocks last).
As part of the celebration, Skytree's official gift shop will carry a selection of limited-edition anniversary merchandise including towels, keychains and cookies.
