The collapse of homeware chain Wilko and the closure of its stores has been an undeniable loss for UK high streets. Hundreds of stores have shut and tens of thousands of employees are threatened with losing their jobs, all of which is a tragedy for communities up and down the country.

Over the past few months, several deals have been struck by other brands to take over Wilko stores. The likes of Poundland and B&M have both agreed to convert stores into their respective brands, while The Range has bought the Wilko brand.

Poundland has agreed to take on the leases of 71 Wilko stores – and now we know exactly which of those will first become Poundland stores.

On Saturday September 30, these ten Wilko stores will reopen as Poundlands.

  • Broad Street, Chell Road, Stafford
  • Pendle Rise Shopping Centre, Nelson
  • The Peel Centre, Great Portwood Street, Stockport
  • The Mall, Church Street, Eccles
  • London Street, Southport
  • Lord Street, Leigh
  • East Street, Barking
  • High Street, Maidenhead
  • Bede Precinct, Viking Centre, Jarrow
  • The Broadway, Scunthorpe
