If you were planning a nice summertime picnic this weekend, it might be best to figure out a more sheltered alternative. Two days of high-speed winds, rain and thunder are set to strike the UK, with the Met Office having issued several yellow weather warnings.

The first warning is in place for Wales and southwest England. Lasting from 7am to 7pm tomorrow (July 14), the Met Office says that there may be delays to rail, air and ferry transport, as well as some damage to trees and temporary structures like tents and marquees.

The second warning is for the Midlands and south of England and it’s in place on Saturday (July 15) from 9am until midnight. The possible disruption is the same as the above yellow warning, though with the added risk of possible power outage.

So, if you’re in an affected area, it might be time to postpone that high summer picnic! You can find out more about the weather warnings on the official Met Office website here.

Did you see that these UK islands have been named the best to visit in Europe?

Plus: these are officially the best (and worst) places in the UK for a night out.
