As dream jobs go, travelling around the country testing out the downiest pillows and the tastiest toast has got to be up there. Each year, inspectors representing motoring association the AA are deployed across Britain to do exactly that, rating the top bed and breakfasts in England, Scotland and Wales.

Now, the results of the AA B&B Awards 2026 are in.

RECOMMENDED: The best hotels in London.

The best B&B in England

First up: Derbyshire’s Dannah Farm Country House, which took home the England title. Part of the Chatsworth Estate at Shottle, this vast Georgian building offers killer views of the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales.

Positioned between the historic market towns of Wirksworth, Belper and Ashbourne, it’s a stone’s throw from plenty of picturesque villages, scenic walking trails, historic houses and gorg countryside. As a former farmhouse (hence the name), the property features many outbuildings that have been renovated into boutique rooms and suites – which come with their own private hot tubs and/or saunas.

The best B&B in Scotland

Further north, the Scottish title went to Lys-Na-Greyne in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. The Edwardian granite house, built in 1912, sits within a wooded conservation area on the north bank of the River Dee. Perched on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park (and just a 20 minute drive from Balmoral) its more than three acres of gardens offer stunning views up the Dee valley. You’ll find it on Booking.com here.

The best B&B in Wales

As for the Welsh prize? That went to Llanerchindda Farm in Carmarthenshire, a nine-room, family-run hotel offering views over the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. Its range of options includes guest house rooms and self-catering cottages, and its remote and peaceful location makes it a popular stay among walking, cycling and stargazing enthusiasts alike. It’s on Booking.com here.

As well as the best B&Bs in Britain, the AA B&B Awards also award prizes to top inns, restaurants with rooms and self-catering accom. You can check out the winners of those categories at the AA website here.
