This Autumn is set to be pretty stressful. We could have a general election on our hands, at the exact same time as the USA, just as winter begins and everything gets dark again. We’ll undoubtedly need some way to unwind come October, and luckily the Brighton Dome has us covered.

The aptly named Brighton Dome Comedy Festival is a brand new event which will run this year from October 24-27th. Currently, Nish Kumar and Maisie Adam are set to headline, with a full line up to be released at a later date.

As well as stand-up from some of the country’s best and brightest, there will be improv shows, art installations, and storytelling elements to the festival. There will also be a variety of shows for children, making it perfect for the whole family.

Rosie Crane, who is a  producer at the event, voiced excitement, telling the BBC that the idea had been ‘rattling around in [her] brain for a while now.’ Three historic venues will be used during the weekend, including the Concert Hall, the Studio Theatre, and the Corn Exchange, which recently went through a refurbishment.

Tickets have just gone on sale for some of the shows, including Maisie Adam’s headlining gig, starting at only £23. Head over the Dome’s website for full listings currently available, and keep an eye out as more acts are announced in the coming months.
