Nans, grans, gramps and grandads — this one’s for you. As much as we all love our grandparents, research has shown that just over half of families have never actually treated their oldest relations to holiday abroad with them.

To try and resolve that, EasyJet Holidays has announced a huge ‘Grans Go Free’ deal, meaning that grandparents get to join a family vacay completely on the house.

It’s hoped that the spin on your classic ‘kids go free deal’ will encourage multigenerational trips after research found that 51 percent of families have never holidayed overseas with their grandparents, even though 59 percent of those surveyed saying they want to spend more time with the older generations and 57 percent saying they want to make more memories with their grandparents. The offer applies to trips to European hotspots including Spain, Greece, Turkey and Portugal

Matt Callaghan, the chief operating officer at easyJet Holidays said: ‘We’re proud to offer thousands of free kids places, but we feel it’s time to recognise the Grandparents. This research shows how important grandparent and grandchild relationships are and how much can be learned from making time for them.’

‘More families are choosing to holiday with grandparents, recognising the joy of a getaway is amplified when shared across generations. They are able to create new family memories which each generation will cherish – and for some of the parents, they might even have a free babysitter on hand too.’

There are a few Ts and Cs to keep in mind. Numbers are very limited and the holiday must be part of a family booking with at least one child. The deal also ends on February 5, and you can find out all about it on the easyJet website here

Don’t forget that these are also the final few days of easyJet’s ‘Big Orange Sale’, which is offering customers up to a whopping £400 on holiday packages off until Monday, February 5.
