Glam rockers Wizzard once sang that they wished it could be Christmas everyday. Well, that big-haired, platform-heeled dream is now a reality with the arrival of Great! Movies Christmas.

The TV channel will air back-to-back festive flicks around the clock, so there’s no excuse not to be in the Christmas spirit.

The Great! Movies Christmas channel is available to viewers with Freeview, Sky or Virgin subscriptions.

Here are four superbly cheesy festive movies you can catch on the channel.

The Nine Lives of Christmas

Former Superman Brandon Routh stars as a fireman who adopts a stray cat who plays a role in a meet cute with veterinary nurse Marilee. The pair soon fall in love but come against the ultimate hurdle in a no-pet policy in an apartment complex. Will their romance survive the feline ban?

A Christmas Melody

It wouldn’t be Christmas without Mariah Carey and A Christmas Melody sees the pop diva play Melissa, the head of the local school’s Parent-Teacher Association, who clashes with widowed mother Kristin, her former rival from high school. All love seems lost until their family shows them the importance of the Christmas spirit and helps them overcome their differences. Altogether now: awwww!

A Dogwalker’s Christmas Tale

Another animal-related festive romance – Great! Movies Christmas is an absolute boon for pet lovers – A Dogwalker’s Christmas Tale stars Mean Girls’s Jonathan Bennett as a pooch escort who teams up with a spoiled college student to save a local park and stop developers building a salon. Will they do it? Probably.

Chasing Christmas

While not a patch on The Muppets’ version, this is A Christmas Carol like you’ve never seen it before – probably. Chasing Christmas follows Jack, a grumpy Scrooge-like character who hates Christmas after he discovered his wife was cheating on him at their daughter’s school play.

Ghosts of Christmas Past and Present take back to different moments in his life – you know the drill – to teach him the meaning of Christmas, but when the Ghost of Christmas Past leaves them stranded in 1965, Jack must race through time to get home for Christmas.
