Are you a huge fan of all things ‘Jumanji’? Or do you have kids that are wild for the franchise? Well, we’ve got very exciting news. Chessington World of Adventures, just south of London, is soon to be home to not only the world’s first ‘Jumanji’-themed theme park area but the world’s first ‘Jumanji’-themed rollercoaster, too. And more preview images of the attractions have just dropped.

The World of Jumanji is set to open on May 15. And while the entire themed area will surely be a dream for ‘Jumanji’ fans, the key centrepiece is a ride called ‘Mandrill Mayhem’. Rising to 55 feet, it’ll involve lots of speeding around and going upside-down and backwards. Y’know, the usual rollercoaster stuff.

‘Mandrill Mayhem’ is Chessington’s first new ride since 2004 but it’s far from the only thing in the World of Jumanji. There’ll also be a sort of pendulum ride called the ‘Mamba Strike’, as well as hurricane-type thing called ‘Ostrich Stampede’. On top of that, Chessington Safari Hotel will have several ‘Jumanji’-themed rooms.

If you’re into ‘Jumanji’, it all sounds like something of a dreamland. Here are a few sneak-preview renders of the themed area.

If you’re not particularly into ‘Jumanji’, we’ll fill you in. A film and TV franchise, ‘Jumanji’ was originally based on children’s books written by Chris Van Allsburg. In the decades since, there have been four ‘Jumanji’ films, the most recent of which starred the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan.
