Manchester’s new Co-op Live is set to be Britain’s biggest indoor arena, and it’s got a pretty star-studded line-up for this summer, including Liam Gallagher, Olivia Rodrigo, and, best of all, Peter Kay. More than £356 million has been put into building the venue, and none other than Harry Styles is its ambassador. He is, after all, from sort-of-near Manchester.

Appropriately, the first act to perform at Co-op Live will be Kay – a Mancunian though, admittedly, one not from the city proper but from Bolton, Greater Manchester. Kay will undoubtedly be a perfect welcome for the Co-Op, being both a local and still able to be funny without targeting one or all minorities. Here’s how you can secure tickets to the big night.

When is Peter Kay opening the Co-op Live?

The gig is on Tuesday, April 23. Tickets go on sale this Friday (23 Feb), unless you are a Co-op member. Members will have access to a pre-sale from today (21 Feb) until Friday.

How much are tickets to Peter Kay at Co-op Live?

Depending on where you want to sit, tickets range from £41.50 (right at the back) to £151 for a VIP package which includes a ‘limited edition Peter Kay gift’. Sounds, erm, interesting.

What’s the Co-op Live’s capacity?

Unsurprisingly considering the whole ‘UK’s biggest indoor venue’ thing, the Co-op Live has bags of space. With a capacity of 23,500, getting your hands on tickets might not be a complete bloodbath.

Manchester in the news

There’s a lot going on in Mannie, and we’re on top of it all. Did you see this cool new zig-zag library coming to the city? Or that one of the world’s best libraries, which happens to be Mancunian, is getting a £7.6 million refurb? You lot are also getting a brand-new market hall in one suburb

Did you see that locals have just lost their battle to stop the controversial Stonehenge tunnel?

Plus: Britain’s rainiest seaside towns have been revealed.
