If you’re any sort of metalhead, when Metallica are in town you don’t miss them. And that’s the case in Glasgow this week, with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and co in town as part of their M72 World Tour.

Metallica are at Barclays Hampden – as Hampden Park is currently known for sponsorship reasons – for one night only. Glasgow is one of only three UK cities on the M72 World Tour this summer, with the band set for shows in Cardiff and London.

Off to Hampden to see Metallica? Here’s all the essential information you need to know about the show, from the timings and potential setlist to remaining ticket availability.

What time do gates open at Hampden Park?

Gates open at 4pm.

What time will Metallica come on stage?

The band hasn’t confirmed the start time. However, they’ve been fairly consistent on the tour so far, usually taking to the stage at 8.15pm. As always, get down early to avoid disappointment (and see the two phenomenal support bands – more on that below).

What’s the seating plan?

This is the seating map at Hampden, according to Ticketmaster. Take note of the special set-up, with a 360-degree doughnut stage in the middle of (what would be) the pitch.

Who is supporting Metallica in Glasgow?

On support are two unmissable bands: metalcore titans Knocked Loose and French prog-death metal band Gojira. Here are the estimated set times for both, based on previous dates on the M72 Tour:

  • Knocked Loose – 5.30pm
  • Gojira – 6.30pm
