Nearly a year on from when the band last played Blighty, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have announced that they’re returning for a very special one-off gig. They’ll be playing Brighton’s Preston Park next summer in what will be their only UK performance of 2026.
Right now, the band is touring New Zealand and Australia as part of their Wild God Tour, which stopped by the UK back in 2024. Those shows last year garnered rave reviews from critics, who called it ‘hugely moving’, ‘deeply powerful’ and ‘utterly immersive and enthrallingly delivered’. So, fans can expect something just as brilliant in Brighton.
Nick Cave has a special affinity to the Sussex city. The Australian singer and his family lived there for 20 years but moved back to LA in 2015 after the death of his son. In his announcement of the exclusive show, which featured a video of his face and lyrics projected on Brighton landmarks, Nick said: ‘I am thrilled beyond words to return to my beloved Brighton with The Bad Seeds to play Preston Park. It’s a homecoming! It’s going to be big, bad and beautiful. An epic show!!!’
