Fancy a shot at playing royalty? Reddish of hair, or open to a tasteful dye job? Somewhere around legal drinking age? ‘The Crown’ wants you.

Netflix’s smash-hit royal saga is looking for wannabe actors between the age of 16 and 20 to audition for the role of Prince Harry in the next season of ‘The Crown’.

The series long-time casting director, Robert Sterne, has already catapulted Emma Corrin to global fame as its Princess Diana and is now looking for a young tyro to play Harry in his late teens for season 6.

No professional experience is necessary, although the casting specs do call for ‘an exceptional young actor’ with ‘a strong physical resemblance’ to the younger prince. Who knows? Maybe you’re an exceptional actor and didn’t even know it.

It’ll be a major role, too. Season 6 is now due to run as far as the wedding of Charles and Camilla in 2005, bringing Harry and William – and their relationship with their dad – into focus as key characters in the drama.

But applicants shouldn’t worry about being dropped in the deep end of the Buckingham Palace pool. ‘We are very experienced in providing a great deal of support for the young actors and their families through what they find is a uniquely rewarding creative process,’ stresses ‘The Crown’s casting team.

Head to the official casting site for all the information on auditioning, but hurry because season 6 is due to go before the cameras as soon as November 2022.

‘The Crown’ news, meanwhile, comes thick and fast. After a respectful pause in production in the wake of Queen Elizabeth’s death, it’s all go with season 5, which now has an official launch date (November 9). Keep your eyes peeled for a trailer soon.
