When it comes to holidays, do you follow the crowds to trustworthy, tried and tested destinations or do you prefer to go against the grain? Do you follow the travel trends or do you set them? The likes of London, Edinburgh, Cornwall and Bath are all very well-established tourist destinations here on the British Isles (and for good reason). But we’ve got tonnes more worthwhile places to visit besides.

Now, TripAdvisor has revealed the country’s top trending coastal destinations – so you can check them out before they become full-blown hotspots.

For its Summer Travel Index 2025, TripAdvisor delved into data from its website and recent consumer survey to discover which parts of the Britain are rising in popularity ahead of peak holiday season. Claiming top spot? The small village of Seaview on the Isle of Wight.

Overlooking Seagrove Bay, pretty Seaview sits on the north-east of the island and, apparently, is a popular haunt of politicians and celebs. It’s got a stretch of cute shops, plenty of quality eateries to choose from (like The Old Fort gastropub or the Michelin-recommended Aquitania), and a little bit out of town there’s the Isle of Wight Distillery

The country’s second ‘fastest-growing’ holiday spot, according to TripAdvisor, is Ingoldmells in Lincolnshire, home to Fanatasy Island Resort and a host of holiday and caravan parks. Third on the hotlist was Bamburgh in Northumberland, where you’ll find the magnificent Bamburgh Castle

Britain’s top 10 trending seaside destinations, according to TripAdvisor

  3. Bamburgh, Northumberland
  4. Hunstanton, Norfolk
  5. Dundee, Scotland
  6. Coventry, West Midlands
