The huge spa will have saunas, plunge pools, a jacuzzi and more

The UK’s sauna obsession is showing no signs of slowing down. Brits have gone mad for the Nordic ritual of sweating buckets in a small wooden room then plunging into a tub of bracing water, with saunas popping up from Liverpool to Glasgow and all over London.
There are also dozens of saunas lining the British coast, where wellness buffs can cool off by diving right into the sea. And this spring, the UK is set to get its largest beach spa yet.
Kent’s sauna specialists Sea Scrub Sauna will open their biggest site yet on Folkestone Harbour in March.
Bringing Nordic sauna culture to the British coast, Sea Scrub Folkestone will feature two wood-fired saunas, a hot tub with a jacuzzi, two cold plunge pools, traditional bucket showers, a wellness cafe and an event space for yoga and moon ceremonies.
There are already Sea Scrub Saunas in Margate, Whitstable and Faversham. At those sites, sauna users can purchase add-ons like organic salt scrub, oil-infused ice balls or birch whisks, which you brush on your skin as you sweat in the sauna to cleanse and improve your circulation.
The monthly full moon ceremonies are a little different at each site, but they all last around 90 minutes and involve things like sauna intervals, essential oil steams, cold plunges, birch whisking rituals, fire pit gatherings and a wild swim beneath the stars.
Sessions at Sea Scrub Sauna Folkestone will start from £17 per hour. You can keep an eye out for bookings here.
