In case you needed another reason to visit Scarborough (one of Time Out’s best places to visit in the UK this year), maybe the fact that it’s officially home to the best B&B in the whole world will tempt you.

Toulson Court in the centre of the seaside town has snapped up the crown for a very impressive third year in a row. TripAdvisor analysed 12 months of review data for more than 1.5 million venues to find the best hotels across ten different categories, including best all-inclusives, best small hotels and of course, best B&Bs.

The Scarborough bed and breakfast has more than 2,000 ‘excellent’ reviews on the site. One reviewer called it a ‘right gem’ while another called the breakfast ‘super dooper’. There are also frequent special mentions given to its spotlessness, warm atmosphere and the resident ‘singing chef’.

Toulson Court beat luxury accommodation in Morocco, Brazil, Florida and Italy. Several other British B&Bs also made the cut, including Highcliffe House in Lynton and Gloucester House in Weymouth.

James and Angela Rusden, the owners of Toulson Court, told Mail Online: ‘We really were not expecting the amazing news to be crowned World’s Best B&B for the third year running. We are truly amazed and delighted to win this award again. It’s fantastic not only for us, but for the town of Scarborough and all its attractions.’

ICYMI: Free wi-fi on trains may soon be a thing of the past.

Plus: This tiny island museum has been named one of the UK’s top attractions.
