Your guide to the legendary singer’s first run of headline shows in the Welsh capital in 21 years

‘It’s good to be home!’ Sir Tom Jones exclaimed as he concluded his first night performing at Cardiff Castle last Friday. At 83 years old, it’s the first time in 21 years that the Pontypridd-born singer has had a run of headline shows in the Welsh capital.
Jones has returned to his home soil for a three-show run of his Ages and Stages tour at Cardiff Castle. His first show on July 21 earned a dazzling five stars from Wales Online and four from the Telegraph, which wrote ‘he’s still got everything that really counts: a huge voice, a real feeling for songcraft and a burning delight at still being on stage singing for an audience.’
If you’ve suddenly caught major FOMO, don’t panic. Jones will be playing two more shows at Cardiff Castle on Monday July 24 and Saturday August 5. Here’s everything you need to know.
According to the Cardiff Castle website, doors will open at 5pm. The support act will perform from 7:10pm until 8pm, then Tommo is scheduled to take to the stage at 8:30pm.
Songs and order may vary across the different dates but at his first Cardiff Castle performance on July 21, Jones’s setlist included:
Tom is being supported by Far From Saints, a band made up of Stereophonics member Kelly Jones plus Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker from American band The Wind and The Wave.
At the time of writing, there are still tickets on sale on Ticketmaster but availability is low so best be quick.
You can’t bring your own food or drink into the venue and any bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper won’t be allowed in.
It’s due to finish at 10:30pm.
