The chain has confirmed that 68 restaurants and 11 delivery sites will close with immediate effect

While the UK is stacked with outstanding independent pizzerias, nearly every Brit has one chain that they trust for a quick hit of cheesy, doughy goodness. For some it might be Dominos, for others, Pizza Express or Papa Johns. Then, there are those who swear by Pizza Hut and its beloved buffet. If you’re in the latter kind of people, we have some sad news.
Pizza Huts restaurant in major cities like Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds and London, as well as towns up and down the country, are saying goodbye for good over the coming months. A whopping 68 Pizza Huts will shut across the UK after owners of the franchise were forced to call in administrators. Here are all your question about Pizza Hut’s closures, answered.

Pizza Hut has been struggling for some time now. The owners of its UK franchise, DC London Pie, bought the chain’s restaurants from insolvency at the start of this year but were forced to call in administrators on Monday October 20 following ‘challenging trading conditions and increased costs’. As a result, 68 Pizza Hut restaurants and 11 delivery sites will shut down.
The good news is that a rescue deal was signed with American hospitality giant Yum! Brands (which owns Pizza Hut’s global business, as well as KFC and Taco Bell), saving 64 UK restaurants and around 1,200 jobs.
According to reports, the affected Pizza Hut locations are shutting with immediate effect.
