Son of a nutcracker! Christmas has come early for movie fans, with a new movie prop auction crammed full of iconic memorabilia going under the hammer this month.
The Propstore auction features more than 1,350 rare items, including some of cinema’s most recognisable costumes and gadgets – from Star Wars to Marvel, and classic festive movies.
Just imagine how much street cred you’ll earn for wearing the actual Buddy the Elf costume to your Christmas party, or donning the real Scream mask at next year’s Halloween event.
There’s still some smaller ticket items, and it can still be fun to do some virtual window shopping. Here’s a roundup of the best items on offer.
Buddy the Elf costume
Estimated price: £100,000 - £200,000
Christmas is only just around the corner and donning Will Ferrell’s costume from 2003 movie Elf seems like the perfect way to get in the festive spirit, as long as you’ve got a few grand to spare.
The green and yellow ensemble is expected to reach up to £200,000, so take extra care not to spill any mulled wince or mince pie crumbs on it this Christmas.
Alan Rickman’s annotated Love Actually and Die Hard scripts
Estimated price: £3,000 - £6,000
Here’s your chance to own the original cast scripts for festive classics Love Actually and Die Hard.
The late, great Alan Rickman had made his own annotations throughout the scripts, offering an insight into the methods of one of Britain’s greatest actors.
Here’s your chance to find out what Alan Rickman really thought when his character handed Emma Thompson a CD, or when he battled John McClane.
Scream mask
Estimated price: £50,000 - £100,000
Halloween might have just been and gone, but it’s never too early to start planning next year’s killer costume.
Now is your chance to impress your mates by rocking up to a Halloween party with the actual Scream mask from the iconic 1996 movie.
It’s of course one of the most common masks in fancy dress shops across the globe, but only you would have the real deal. Long billowing black robe not included, mind.
Indiana Jones’ fedora
Estimated price: £150,000 - £300,000
There’s no question about it, Indiana Jones made fedoras cool. The stylish archaeologist always looked suave even when traversing ancient temples on a quest for cursed relics.
This fedora was made especially for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and was worn by Harrison Ford during filming the classic movie.
Will Smith’s Men in Black costume
Estimated price: £12,000 - £24,000
A suit that is just as practical for job interviews as it is for hunting aliens from space hellbent on invading the planet.
Will Smith’s original costume from the first Men in Black movie is up for sale, complete with name tag and all.
Just make sure you use the memory wiping device on yourself to forget the £24,000 price tag.
Boba Fett’s blaster
Estimated price: £350,000 - £700,000
The galaxy’s most feared bounty hunter was one heck of a sharp shooter thanks to his impressive weapons arsenal.
Boba Fett’s EE-3 carbine blaster featured throughout Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back as he tracked down Han Solo across the galaxy to Bespin’s Cloud City.
A true relic of the Star Wars movies, this item is expected to fetch up to £700,000 in the auction.
Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia auction runs from 5-7 December. Head to the official site here for all the items on sale.
