It really could be coming home this weekend, people. After their beautiful win against Australia in the semi-finals on Wednesday, the Lionesses are set to play in the World Cup final against Spain on Sunday, August 20.
The best place to watch our girls do their thing and soak up the excitement is, of course, the pub. And in the spirit of nationwide buzz and celebration, over 900 Greene King pubs across the country are offering free drinks to footie fans.
The offer will be available from kick-off at 11am on Sunday until 2pm and you’ll be able to choose one free drink including cask ales, lagers, craft beers, wines, spirits and mixers.
If you needed another reason to go all out with your finale fit, this is it. Only those who prove their dedication to England’s women qualify for the deal. Greene King will be offering the free beverages exclusively to those who turn up wearing England kit, England colours or England face paint.
The pub chain also offered free pints during the men’s world cup last year. Michelle West, head of sport marketing for Greene King, said: ‘The team has performed incredibly over the course of the tournament, and we’re so excited for the final against Spain this Sunday.
‘We’re asking fans to head to their local Greene King Sport pub and show their colours in support of the team, literally – all you need to do is wear England colours, kit or face paint and you can grab yourself a free drink.’
