The title refers to the length of a piano recital by a sociopath (Herzsprung), freed from the pokey by her octogenarian music teacher (Bleibtreu, a 63-year-old done up in horrendous old-lady wig and makeup). It could also refer to how long it’ll take before completely tuning out this overcooked saga, whose subplots include incest and flashbacks to lezzie romance in a concentration camp. Pitched at deafening hysteria, Chris Kraus’s film might have fared better in moderato.
