This unbelievably dreadful piece of '70s kitsch has rival club owners Boyle and Terry-Thomas battling to evade closure by searching out new pop talent, with the latter's right-hand man Humphries and his recording agency contact De Sykes off to a head start. The acts include Mud, the Rubettes and Second Generation, the big finale has the wall between the two establishments falling down to make one big party, and, yes, the director is that Bruce Beresford - the one who made Tender Mercies and Driving Miss Daisy.
