Could centuries-old Tibetan medical manuscripts hold the secret key to cures which still leave Western doctors baffled? That's just one of the tantalising notions in this feature length documentary exploring the subject of Tibetan medicine. Dr Tenzin Choedrak, personal physician to the Dalai Lama, unfurls ancient manuscripts and introduces the theories, which view the body as a series of elements, energy centres and channels. There's much fascinating material here, but writer/director Reichle seems unsure how best to use it. Information overload is the problem, since we barely have time to get a handle on the basics of the Tibetan approach before sundry Western eggheads blind us with science.
