Jennifer Hudson and 'The Color Purple' cast pay tribute to Prince with 'Purple Rain' cover

This is going to be happening a lot this week—musicians and musical performers paying tribute to the Purple One with covers of his best songs. This, however, might prove to be the spine-tingliest.

Following their performance on Thursday night, not even half a day after Prince's death was announced, the cast of Broadway hit The Color Purple led a sing-along of "Purple Rain" that will slay you in all the right ways.

Led by Jennifer Hudson and Cynthia Erivo (who, as Celie, has given Broadway one of its most electrifying performances in years), the five-minute performance culminates with the entire audience joining in. And tears. Lots of tears.
