A night out in Stoke Newington is always great. Irish pub Auld Shillelagh keeps the mood light and friendly, whilst Jolly Butchers has one of the best selections of ales and ciders in the area. For those who like their bars with a bit of a gothic bent, there's Baby Bathhouse.

Yes The Shakespeare is a tricksy little place and should definitely be included on the list. I hope this place never changes!

What about The Shakespeare on Allen Road (especially on a Monday for pub quiz), the Coach and Horses on the High Street (great bands play around the piano on a Thursday) or The Rose and Crown on Church Street (just a great old boozer, especially on a Sunday for roast!). All do pretty decent beer as well!
