Street Feast Dalston Yard has closed to make room for more housing

Last weekend, Street Feast in Dalston Yard held its last ever foodie (and let’s face it, boozy) sessions as it closed for the summer. But the sad news is that the famous street-food peddlers won’t be returning to their original Dalston setting next summer (where they’ve been stationed for the last four years), as the site – like many of our favourite nightlife spots of late – is being transformed into flats.

Dalston Yard had felt like Street Feast’s spiritual home for many, but luckily the team assure us that there will be plenty to look forward to, so watch this space. And don’t worry, their other buzzing sites at Hawker House and Dinerama are still very much in action throughout the winter. But for now, it’s goodbye to 16 traders, 12 bars, a tequila treehouse and guaranteed good times just opposite Dalston Junction station. Somebody pass us a bao bun, we need to comfort-eat our way through this one.

In other news, there's going to be a new floating seafood restaurant on Regent's Canal.
