Good Times in the Park - CANCELLED

Critics' choice

NB. This event has been cancelled.

Norman Jay's Good Times soundsystem has been a staple of Notting Hill Carnival since 1980, but this year's he's gone renegade and decided to put on a two-day festival in Wormwood Scrubs Park instead. The line-up includes plenty of heavyweights from the worlds of funk, soul, reggae and urban music, plus (of course) Mr Jay himself leading the festivities with his Good Times crew.

Well what looked like a fantastic festival has been cancelled now so you all obviously got your way....

interesting choice of venue - in a weekend you will be successful in scaring horses, stopping disabled children from doing something hugely beneficial and, affecting a Charity's ability to make money while the organises make lots of it!

The festival organisers claimed they had liaised with all stakeholders about this use of an unspoilt and peaceful park, but the only way someone living opposite the park discovered it was going to happen was when I whinged about it on Facebook.  This is NOT an appropriate venue for a music festival and Hammersmith & Fulham Licensing Committee and Council officers have ridden roughshod over the wishes of local people in order to push it through for their own ends.
