A rock 'n' roll watering hole off the beaten Camden track, The Black Heart falls somewhere between an American biker bar and a classic British rock pub. It's a dim space decorated with Día de Muertos skulls and a big neon crucifix. A pop-up kitchen hosts different fast food chefs each month. For the thirsty there's a good range of local beers from the Camden Town Brewery and East London Brewing Company, including Camden Hells Lager. Wine, spirits and cocktails are also in supply. Follow the noise upstairs most evenings, and you'll find a dedicated, 150-capacity venue with a separate bar and a top-of-the-range PA system, which lets the rock, punk and metal bands who play here go all the way to 11. While it's not exactly an oasis of calm (the constant soundtrack of Maiden, Sabbath, Iggy and occasionally Ziggy sees to that), The Black Heart is a welcome respite from the main Camden stretch and a great place to see bands of an evening.

Not a bad bar, pretty noisy and a bit of the dirty side, but I imagine its fun for a big night on the booze rather than a casual drink. Drinks aren't too expensive and staff were friendly.
Citizen C I question your review.. I've always had a great time there.. All the staff from bar to door to bbq food.. awesome people.. I encourage people to decide for themselves and not one self righteous reviewer whom possibly was a bit of a co*k and thus got treated so.
Ace venue! Caught Drenge, Radkey, & De Staat here recently...have since all became my new favourite bands...looks like The Wytches and The Ruen Bros. will be playing soon as well. You know what to do folks!
I've been to your venue a few times. I'm disappointed to say that the attitude of your bar and security staff is so negative and bordering on aggressive (in quite a strangely insecure way) that I will now be actively discouraging people from coming here. For a venue that generally seems to be less than half full even at peak time on a weekend, one would expect that your staff might be at least vaguely interested in being friendly to customers. Unfortunately not. I'm sorry to say that I look forward to your business closing down and a more positive, customer focussed venue opening instead.
