Vault Festival 2014

A new season of theatre and subterranean shindigs is happening underneath Waterloo station. Here's our pick of the events to look out for

Back for a second year, Vault Festival 2014 is bringing a killer programme of theatre and late-night parties to the eerily atmospheric Vaults, located underneath Waterloo station. The headline event is a stage adaptation of Hunter S Thompson's psychedelic 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', but even if the bonkers, substance-fuelled classic isn't to your tastes, there's plenty to check out at the month-and-a-bit-long fest.

What a fantastic night! Everybody braved the terrible weather, donned their strangest outfits and set about taking part in this buzzing hive of creative activity. The music was explosively hedonistic - rock and roll, funk and soul with an electro, modern edge, and it's hard to describe the atmosphere - imagine a mixture of unicorns, theatricals, dancing, drinking and contemporary art - in a subterrean graffiti tunnel, and you'd be close. Great opening to a brilliant festival.

Went last night/opening night, thought the place was great the performance of "fear and loathing.." Was just great, however, the seating (on benches) was unbareable, next to no leg room and I'm an average height girl, ruined the experience for me.
