Sorry, drunk Santas. If you were planning on traipsing around two of Manhattan's most party-friendly neighborhoods, the Lower East Side and East Village, for SantaCon this weekend, you'll have to change your course. Following the Bushwickian backlash that occurred when the Brooklyn nabe was announced as site of this year's Santa invasion, Community Board 3 (which covers the two neighborhoods, as well as part of Chinatown) is banning the red-robed revelers as well.

In response, SantaCon organizers have allegedly hired civil-rights lawyer Norman Siegel to represent them and are working with city officials to try to make the pub-crawl-for-charity more legitimate, a la the Halloween Parade. No word until Friday on where the jolly SantaCon masses will be congregating, so stay tuned.

Update: Rest easy, downtowners: This year's festivities will kick off in the appropriately pub-heavy Hell's Kitchen.
