For the fifth installment of guest-chef series, Push Project, Empellón empire builder Alex Stupak (Empellón Taqueria, Empellón Cocina) is bringing in Top Chef alum and master of Mexican cuisine Rick Bayless to his cocina on November 13.

Together they’ll serve an eight-course dinner at Empellón Cocina and, with the respect Stupak gives his house-made tortillas, it’s no surprise the menu is all about corn. Dish details are yet to be revealed, but we’re pining for tacos al pastor and maybe some crazy michelada riffs. Tickets to the aptly named Art of Masa are $175 and can be reserved on the Empellón website.

Stupak, a trailblazer for Mexican food in New York, says he asked Bayless to cook alongside him out of utter deference: “I read Rick’s books daily before opening Empellón and I drew inspiration from his work at Frontera Grill. He refuses to compromise the integrity and soul of Mexican cooking and I hold him as a personal role model.”
