There are plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks to make like Mariah with holiday high notes and eat your weight in Christmas cookies. To celebrate their joint 120th anniversary on Thursday, December 18, East Village institutions Veniero's Bakery and Third Street Music School Settlement will host outdoor caroling by the school's talented students (alumni include Ingrid Michaelson and Frozen composer Robert Lopez) on the sidewalk outside the bakery, as well as free cookies designed by Veniero's for the historic milestone.

For a more adult sing-along, Bavarian biergarten Zum Schneider are getting into the holiday spirit with their Adventsingen-Christmas Caroling event for the next two Sundays (doors open at 1pm, singing starts at 3pm). In between festive renditions of "Oh Tannenbaum," fill up on free cookies and stollen (fruit cake). A full menu of German dishes will also be available for purchase.
