With hundreds of outdoor gigs, many of them free, the SummerStage schedule is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated parts of the summer music calendar. If you've been waiting patiently to see who's playing in 2015...well, you'll have to wait a bit longer. This year, the series celebrates its 30th anniversary, and to mark the occasion they'll be rolling out the lineup one act at a time over the next 30 days. Between now and April 8, when the full 2015 calendar arrives, check the SummerStage Twitter and Facebook pages for one new performer a day. You won't be able to mark your calendar exactly: date and venue info will come with the full schedule. For today's first leak, they've announced a set by quick-tongued Brooklyn MC Masta Ace.

In other recent summer music news, Kings County music series Celebrate Brooklyn! will open its 2015 season with soul diva Chaka Khan, and the Northside Festival has announced big-stage outdoor gigs with Neko Case, Run the Jewels, Best Coast and Built to Spill. For the latter, tickets are already on sale.
