We've seen a number of London-based eateries make their way across the pond of late (see: Burger & Lobster, Bodega Negra), but the latest transplants taking Gotham by storm are from San Francisco's the Slanted Door.
First up is a pho pop-up with the restaurant's James Beard Award-winning chef Charles Phan at Reynard held from Feb 15–17 as part of the Wythe hotel's Dinner with Friends series. On the $38 prix-fixe menu are three types of soul-warming soup, including chicken, beef and vegetarian options, in addition to appetizers like yellowtail with crispy shallots and daikon rice cakes, and desserts like Slanted Door beignets and Meyer-lemon tarts. Unfortunately reservations aren't accepted, so you'll have to stroll in at some point between 6pm and 11pm to (hopefully) get a table.
If you can't wait until next weekend for big ol' bowl, hit one of the city's best spots for Vietnamese grub like Nightingale 9, Bunker and Falansai.
