Thanksgiving is almost upon us, which means most of us will soon be buying holiday presents. So we turned to the man we thought could best teach us what (not) to do this holiday season: Bobby Moynihan, creator of the beloved SNL character Drunk Uncle. Moynihan shares his thoughts on gift-giving, staying in the city for the holidays and, of course, Drunk Uncle's incendiary rants. And if Moynihan's advice isn't enough for you, Time Out New York staffers share the gifts that have rocked our worlds—and the ones that almost ruined the holidays forever. Plus, we've got neighborhood-by-neighborhood maps of where to shop for the coolest presents, including our top gift picks at each spot.

But what would an almost-Thanksgiving issue be without a rundown of the city's best pies? This week, our Food & Drink team brings you the most exciting buttery beauties of the season (think pumpkin pecan praline pie at Bubby's and Caramel-apple pie at Momofuku Milk Bar). If you're looking for a spot to dine out on Turkey Day, we've got the best places for you to do that as well (including Jerk Turkey with mac-and-cheese pie and roasted yams at Miss Lily's, and Root & Bone's ham-wrapped pears and fried turkey breast). Hungry yet?

Elsewhere in this issue, we talk to comedic storyteller Mike Foley and Rockettes choreographer Julie Branam. Plus, a farewell to Death by Audio, a four-star review for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1, and our theater editor's thoughts on Hugh Jackman in The River

Should be enough to keep you busy and warm through this early polar vortex!
