You can now take a Lyft anywhere in Manhattan below 97th St for just $5

Where will you tell your grandchildren you were during the great carpooling app wars of 2015? Hot on the heels of Uber’s recent announcement that riders can use UberPool to get anywhere in Manhattan below 96th St for under $10, mustachioed competitor Lyft has announced they’ll be running the same limited time deal, except for only $5. That’s right, for less than an iced coffee and a bagel you can get driven pretty much anywhere in the area below:

To take advantage of the deal, just request a ride using Lyft’s carpooling option: Lyft Line. The offer applies to the first rider, but if you bring a friend it will just set you back an additional dollar. Your move, Uber.
