To honor and remeber those who lost their lives in defense of the nation, Brookyn's annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29. This year is the 156th parade, making it one of the oldest parades in Brooklyn.
Here's the route: The parade begins at 11am on Third Avenue and 78th Street, then proceeds down Third Avenue to Marine Avenue, up to Fourth Avenue and over to John Paul Jones Park. At the park, a memorial service will be held, including bagpipes, a flag raising, a wreath laying, a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps. It's hosted by the United Military Veterans of Kings County.
