Tröegs tap takeoversThis English-style brewery (troegs.com) is seizing spigots all over NYC this winter—at Valhalla (815 Ninth Ave at 54th St; Feb 10 6–8pm), at the Jeffrey (311 E 60th St between First and Second Aves; Mar 18 6–9pm) and with a growler tasting at the Ploughman (438 Seventh Ave between 14th and 15th Sts, Park Slope, Brooklyn; Jan 25 4–7pm).
Bell’s tap takeover at Idle Hands BarNew Yorkers will soon find out that Kalamazoo, Michigan’s Bell’s Brewery, which concocts two dozen of the Midwest’s most sought-after seasonal and year-round beers, freakin’ rules. Many of its offerings, otherwise unavailable in NYC, will be on tap all month at this Alphabet City joint (we recommend the robust, IPA-style Two Hearted Ale). Big Brew NY Beer FestivalA trip to White Plains will earn you unlimited tastings of more than 200 unique beers and the opportunity to knock a few back with brewery reps. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave, White Plains, NY (bigbrewny.com). 5–8:30pm; $50.

NYC Craft Beer FestivalHey, spring is just around the corner! Celebrate with unlimited tastings of 150 of the season’s crispest craft brews during one of the year’s big-deal events. Spring Craft Beer FestivalLike your favorite indie band, when craft beers start filling arenas, does that mean they’ve sold out? The only way to find out is to venture to Nassau Coliseum for this fest—which also features a silent disco. TAP New YorkThe scenic outdoor beer-and-food fest has been going strong in the Catskills since 1997. This year’s incarnation will feature representation from as many as 70 breweries, in addition to cooking demos, food pairings and more. Many of the participating in-state suds makers will be judged in an epic beer tasting competition to see who can dethrone Sixpoint, last year’s victor. Good BeerPresented by local organization Good Bear Seal in conjunction with Edible Manhattan magazine, this Brooklyn bash is the culminating event of Good Beer Month, a slate of tastings and other gatherings at locations around the city.
