Time Out Group appoints Sumindi Peiris as Chief Marketing Officer

Time Out Group, the global media and leisure business that helps people explore and experience the best of the city, announces that Sumindi Peiris has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer.

Reporting into Julio Bruno, CEO of Time Out Group plc, Sumindi will be integral in developing and building the global brand team, leading strategy and all marketing activity across the Group’s two business divisions, Time Out Media and Time Out Market. She will be based in the company’s New York City office.

Sumindi brings more than twenty years of international experience creating breakthrough marketing ecosystems, driving equity and building high performing teams. Most recently, she was Vice President Global Brand Marketing for Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Canopy. Prior to that, Sumindi was Vice President, Global Director Johnnie Walker Reserve in Singapore and also held senior brand management positions at Unilever and LVMH.

Time Out started as a magazine in London in 1968 to inspire and enable people to explore and enjoy the best of the city. Since then, Time Out editors have been writing about the best food, drink and cultural experiences. Today, a global team of local expert journalists is curating the best things to do in 327 cities in 58 countries across websites, magazines, social media and live events. Now this curation is brought to life at Time Out Market. The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 in Lisbon and with nearly four million visitors a year is now Portugal’s most popular attraction. In 2019, Time Out Markets opened in Miami, New York, Boston, Montréal and Chicago and new locations are also set to open in Dubai (2020), London-Waterloo (2021) and Prague (2023).
