Time Out Market Dubai announces inaugural line-up including some of the cities most acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs

Time Out Market Dubai, the food and cultural market rooted in editorial curation, today reveals a selection of its acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs joining the first Market to launch in the Middle East. The brand-new Market will be located in Downtown’s Souk Al Bahar and is set to open to the public in the first quarter of 2021.

The eight award-winning chefs and homegrown local favourites will be part of the 17 concessionaires joining the line-up at Time Out Market Dubai. Handpicked and tasted by local Time Out Dubai experts, the culinary talent features Dubai foodie favourites including: Indian fusion concept MASTI; Modern Eastern eatery BB Social; extraordinary European cuisine from folly by Nick & Scott; local hero Vietnamese Foodies; simply delicious burgers by Pickl; Dubai’s favourite ‘New York meets Neapolitan’ pizza place Pitfire; contemporary dessert specialists Brix and craft coffee roastery Nightjar.

Time Out captures and showcases the excitement and diversity of each iconic city and Time Out Market brings it to life through food, drink and unique cultural experiences celebrating the soul of the city in an extraordinary casual-dining experience. With locations in Lisbon, Miami, New York, Boston, Montreal and Chicago, the Time Out Market portfolio enters Dubai in partnership with Emaar Malls. The Market is located in the heart of Downtown Dubai in Souk Al Bahar, an old-Arabia-themed retail, entertainment and dining destination. Time Out Market Dubai will boast scenic waterfront views overlooking Burj Lake, a location right next door to The Dubai Mall and the iconic Burj Khalifa, which attracts millions of visitors each year.

Time Out Market Dubai spans 30,000 sq ft and will offer a carefully curated mix of 17 eateries, three bars, art and cultural spaces, making it a ‘must visit’ destination to experience the city's culinary scene and the extraordinary cultural experiences in one place.

The Market is designed with the highest safety precautions in mind and will operate in strict accordance with UAE Government guidelines. Time Out Market Dubai will implement advanced air circulation technology and state-of-the-art fresh-air filtration systems. To ensure continuous cleanliness, health and safety communication vestibules will be at the entrance with sanitizing stations. There will be a dedicated cleaning crew and plexiglass shields at all eatery counters and bars. To promote social distancing, artfully designed dividers will feature inscribed quotes from local thought leaders at all dining tables. In addition, customers can now place contactless orders via the Time Out Market app.

Chef Prashant Chipkar of multi-award-winning MASTI will present mouth-watering Indian cuisine with a twist of global influences at Time Out Market Dubai.

Award-winning chef Prashant Chipkar is best known for his reinterpretation of classic Indian cuisine. Winner of the Best Indian Restaurant 2019 in Dubai at both the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards and the BBC Good Food Magazine Middle East Awards 2019, He also won The PRO Chef award for Chef of the year in the Indian category. MASTI (which literally translates as ‘fun and mischief’) infuses modernity with tradition and colour with flavour, creating an expression of ‘New India’. At Time Out Market Dubai, chef Prashant will offer mouth-watering combinations of Indian food with global influences including Smoked Salmon Khakhra, chipotle paneer and Tandoori Chicken Bao

Drawing on influences from across the globe, BB Social Dining will bring Asian-meets-Middle Eastern cuisine to Time Out Market Dubai

BB Social Dining, from co-owners Spero Panagakis and chef Alexander Stumpf, is a unique homegrown concept with an incredible Modern Eastern menu, offering fresh, compelling dishes to suit all palates. Highly commended at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2020, at Time Out Market Dubai BB Social will focus on “Bites and Bao”, presenting signature dishes including the habibi (short rib bao), habibiti (soft shell crab bao), cauliflower popcorn with truffle tofu sauce, and its renowned wagyu katsu with tonkatsu mayonnaise. 

Under the Gates Hospitality portfolio, Dubai’s highly acclaimed Nick Alvis & Scott Price will introduce folly Workshop serving up a modern take on British cuisine.

Nick Alvis and Scott Price, who met while working for culinary legend Gordon Ramsay, launched folly by Nick & Scott at Souk Madinat back in 2016, ensuring diners have the best possible experience while enjoying exceptional food and drink. With a focus on flavour and a commitment to sourcing high-quality produce, this contemporary eatery is the current holder of Time Out Dubai’s ‘Best European Restaurant’ award, and will bring outstanding, British cuisine to folly Workshop at the Time Out Market Dubai.

Vietnamese Foodies will bring the culinary diversity of Ho Chi Minh City to Time Out Market Dubai

Since opening in 2018, Vietnamese Foodies has transported diners in Dubai to the bustling streets of Southern Vietnam with favourites such as pho and goi cuon. Vietnamese Foodies is the result of Chef Lily Hoa Nguyen’s love for cooking and her passion to fill the gap of authentic and delicious Vietnamese food in Dubai’s culinary landscape. Using the freshest ingredients and original cooking techniques, this respected local restaurateur will bring the richly aromatic flavors of Southeast Asia to Time Out Market Dubai, with dishes including short rib pho, green papaya & prawn salad complemented by a selection of rotating specials.

Pickl will bring their deliciously ‘simple, not basic burgers’ to Time Out Market Dubai

Pickl is going to serve up some of their juiciest burgers at Time Out Market Dubai using their homemade sauces, pickles and the freshest ingredients from around the world. A homegrown concept that debuted in 2019, Pickl was launched by a self-confessed burger nut with a vision to create a burger movement, converting even the ‘non-burgerites’ to their delicious Beef Burgers, Chicken Sandos and Ice Cream Sandos. Using beef from the plains of Nebraska and the freshest locally sourced chicken, Pickl’s meaty delights have been hand crafted to perfection. These burgerologists honour real cooking, ethically sourced ingredients and making simple food epic.

Pitfire will bring Dubai’s favourite pizza, best described as ‘New York meets Neapolitan’, to Time Out Market Dubai

Self-confessed pizza obsessives husband and wife duo Bill & Michele Johnson have spent years perfecting the art and craft of producing their award winning pizza at Pitfire. The restaurant's garlic knots and pizzas are made fresh daily with dough proofed for 48 hours to produce a gorgeously soft, yet crispy crust full of flavour. Pizzas arrive layered with crushed Italian tomatoes, locally-produced mozzarella and Pitfire’s quality signature toppings. Combinations and seasonal specials include the Pitfire Primo, the Truff Daddy and Bill’s Special, with Pitfire’s seasoned tomato sauce with Italian sausage, a dash of parmesan and Sicilian oregano, plus a molton mozzarella and provolone cheese blend.

A paradise for diners with a sweet tooth, contemporary dessert bar Brix will offer an exquisite and endless range of heavenly desserts

With an aim to serve desserts that will excite Dubai foodies, Brix will provide diners at Time Out Market Dubai an elevated, unforgettable dessert experience by serving innovative and decadent curations. The menu includes exciting innovative chocolate truffles and heavenly dessert bowls such as Karak Tea cheesecake, the coveted luscious African Powerhouse and an array of handcrafted truffles & bonbons to take home.

Nightjar is the city’s most eclectic eatery, coffee roastery and zero-alc-brewery, serving up quality craft brews and libations on site at Time Out Market Dubai

Nightjar is a home-grown, Dubai-based brand much loved by the arts, music and hipster set. Formed in 2017 by a group of coffee creatives, its guiding philosophy is “Give A Damn”; be it from sourcing distinctive green coffee under strict Direct Trade principles, to batch roasting and hand crafting drinks with personality. At Time Out Market Dubai, Nightjar will serve an extensive range, including cold brew coffee, tea and kombucha on tap, nitro infused tomfoolery and freaky geeky mocktails. The big hitters from Nightjar’s kitchen will also feature, such as its legendary Bombay chicken frankie, salt beef, butties and toasties, custard pie and cold brew panna cotta. 

Time Out Market Dubai will announce more additions to the culinary line-up in the weeks leading up to the grand opening.
