It's the weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!

Fri 13

Austin City Limits
It's back for a second weekend—this time with cooler temps. Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Killers all headline Austin's multi-day music festival at Zilker Park, but the supporting lineup is deep with acts like Solange, Chance the Rapper and hometown heroes Spoon. Not sure who to see? Check out our Friday, Saturday and Sunday recaps from last weekend, plus our full guide to the festFri at 11am through Sun at 10pm

RENT
Decades before Hamilton, the hardest ticket to get on Broadway was for Jonathan Larson’s RENT, a reinvention of Puccini’s La bohème set in New York City’s east village during the 1990s. Though the AIDS crisis at the heart of the play may be somewhat abated today, the larger issues of health, homelessness, love and sexuality remain extremely pertinent. This 20th anniversary touring production is presented by Broadway in Austin. Fri through Sun at various times

Sat 14

Annual Authentic German Oktoberfest
The German-Texan Heritage Society is putting on an Oktoberfest shindig, complete with family-friendly biergartens, authentic German food, live music and kids’ entertainment. Sat 11am

GAyCL
Looking for an ACL alternative? This seventh annual showcase features all queer, independent musicians. Hosted by DJ GirlFriend, GAyCL includes acts such as TRISH & the Yearwoods, P1nkstar, YUNG KWANE, Hot Pank and Carry Illinois. $10 at the door. Sat 6pm-2am

Sun 15

Singin’ in the Rain
This stage adaptation of the classic MGM movie musical kicks off ZACH Theatre’s 85th anniversary season, with direction by Abe Reynold, choreography by Dominique Kelly, and musical direction by Allan Robertson. This is the musical’s first production in Austin, and ZACH promises classic songs, delightful comedic hijinks, and, yes, even a healthy dose of rain! Sun at 2:30 & 7:30pm
