It’s all meat all day at this specialty steakhouse in the CBD. There’s over 20 different steaks on the menu alone, not to mention the myriad chicken, pork, lamb and seafood options – even the potatoes are fried in wagyu fat, and the iceberg salad peppered with lardons. They source their cuts from all over Australia, including Jacks Creek in the Liverpool Plains, and Macquarie Downs in Leyburn. They take their wines just as seriously, with a list that spanning almost 20 pages, covering everything from $10 local wines by the glass to $2000 bottles of Bordeaux.
If the weather’s nice, dine alfresco on the veranda – one of them, furnished with high backed leather chairs and tables napped in white, overlooks the city streets shaded by jacaranda trees, while the other, complete with cushion-comfy rattan, gazes across the tops of palm trees sprouting from the courtyard of the neighbouring Stamford Hotel.
