Ten years after its premiere, 'An Oak Tree' makes its way to Bristol Old Vic following a series of successful runs at the National Theatre, London and the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe.
Set in a stage hypnotist's act, the play is performed by two people: the playwright and a second actor, who changes for each performance and has neither seen nor read a word of the play until curtains go up. It's a formula that won the play numerous awards, weaving a complex idea into an accessible story to create a stunning, unrivalled sense of theatricality.
