Starting today, August 11, Sziget will drawing tens of thousands of festivalgoers to a narrow island in the Danube north of central Budapest until the morning of August 16.

The main route to the festival site is the HÉV suburban train H5 line from either Batthyány tér or the Buda foot of Margaret Bridge (the station is below the 4/6 tram stop) to Filatorigát, where a 24hr BKK customer service point will be on hand for all information and assistance. Train services will be more frequent and run all night until 6am on August 16.
Tram 6 along the Nagykörút will also run more frequently at night between August 10-13, while night buses 901, 909, 918, 923 and 934 will be equipped with larger vehicles to accommodate the crowds.
Sadly, due to low water levels, festival boats will not be sailing on the Danube to the site from Jászai Mari tér.
Those flying in from abroad can take advantage of the direct transfer bus running to Óbuda island between August 10-14. On August 15, buses will run in both directions, and on August 16, buses will run from the island to the airport.
Traffic restrictions around Óbuda island mean that it’s not worth trying to access the festival by car – although cyclists can use the temporary MOL Bubi rental station beside the K Bridge, the main entry point onto the island.
