The Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve has a new stop for coffee lovers. CupHouse offers specialty coffee, a selection of sweet and savoury dishes and a space designed for different moments of the day, from breakfast to an afternoon snack after exploring the trails.
The opening marks the beginning of a Buenos Aires-born project that aims to bring its café concept to other cities. Combining technology, food and hospitality, CupHouse has chosen one of the city's most iconic green spaces to open its first location. In December, a second branch will open at the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden.
A new café in the Ecological Reserve
Located in one of the city's most iconic natural attractions, CupHouse invites visitors to take a break from exploring the trails with specialty coffee and something delicious to eat. The menu features sweet and savoury options, including toasted sandwiches, chipá cheese rolls, medialunas (Argentine croissants), cakes, cookies, alfajores, avocado toast and eggs, alongside a selection of cold drinks. With options for breakfast, light lunches and afternoon snacks, the menu combines familiar flavours with local touches, in a space designed for both a quick stop and a more leisurely visit.
The opening marks the first step in a Buenos Aires-born project with international ambitions. For its founder, Diego Kolankowsky, the city is much more than the starting point of the business: it is where he hopes to launch a concept that will eventually reach cities around the world.
“Today, we're not introducing a café; we're introducing the first concept in a series of coffee houses that will open around the world,” he explains. He adds: “Why should international concepts only originate in New York or London? Maybe it can be the other way around. Maybe they can start in Buenos Aires.”
Specialty coffee and a menu for every moment of the day
Coffee takes centre stage at CupHouse. The café uses beans selected for their quality and traceability, processed at a roastery certified by Project Origin. Its coffee is designed to offer balance, a full body and natural sweetness, with moderate acidity and options to enjoy it black, with milk or in cold beverages.
To ensure consistency in every cup, the brand has developed the CupHouse Coffee Method, its own system combining standardised recipes, precision equipment, staff training and quality controls. The aim is to maintain the same high standards in every preparation without losing the human touch that makes the experience special. “It's specialty coffee that never disappoints. The best in the world, in a cup,” Kolankowsky sums up.
A home surrounded by nature
The decision to open the first CupHouse at the Ecological Reserve reflects both its natural surroundings and its special place in the lives of Buenos Aires residents. For the founder, it is a location with an identity that would be difficult to replicate.
“Our first location is in an iconic part of Buenos Aires, a unique place: the Ecological Reserve. It's somewhere very close to the hearts of locals, right in the middle of a wonderful city that also attracts plenty of tourists,” he explains.

The idea of home is also reflected in the name. Cup refers to the coffee cup, while house represents hospitality and a sense of belonging. “For me, 'house' brings together the best of what you can have in a cup with the best thing we can have: a home,” Diego Kolankowsky explains.
The concept aims to combine the precision of specialty coffee with a distinctly Buenos Aires identity. “What we're creating are coffee houses, tea houses, places that represent Buenos Aires, even mate cocido, because this is a very porteño concept. We're bringing together the best of what can go into a cup with a system that ensures the coffee never disappoints,” he says. He adds: “But with those distinctive Buenos Aires touches, creating a home where people can spend time and feel at ease.”
In December this year, the concept will expand to the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden, opening its second location in Buenos Aires. According to its founder, the brand also plans to bring its coffee houses to other high-traffic locations, both locally and internationally, including Aeroparque and Ezeiza airports.
The opening event was also attended by Buenos Aires Mayor Jorge Macri, who highlighted local talent and CupHouse's commitment to growing from Buenos Aires. “The greatest asset this city has is its people and their talent. And you reflect that through your ability to come up with something new and different,” Macri said. “Thank you for investing in the city. Thank you for believing in this city and creating jobs,” he added during the event. He also welcomed the project's international ambitions and the possibility of a brand born in Buenos Aires expanding into other markets.
