Exclusive Interview with Rossif Sutherland: From Donald’s Legacy to Murder in a Small Town

Exclusive Interview with Rossif Sutherland: From Donald’s Legacy to Murder in a Small Town

Towns where nothing ever happens are often the first to break that promise. That is the premise behind Murder in a Small Town, the new crime drama premiering August 19 on Universal+. Based on Canadian writer L.R. Wright’s Alberg and Cassandra Mysteries novel series, the show follows Karl Alberg, a detective who leaves behind the fast pace of the big city to start over in the peaceful fishing town of Gibsons, located on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. But the calm doesn’t last long: a series of murders begins to shatter the town’s apparent tranquility, forcing him to uncover what his neighbors are hiding. Kailey SchwermanMurder in a Small Town A project with a personal meaning “It’s a crime series set in this idyllic place in British Columbia, a fishing town. The story revolves around a detective and a librarian who fall deeply in love and, well into the second half of their lives, discover that passion we all hope to experience at some point. So it’s a love story, but it’s also a murder story,” Rossif Sutherland tells Time Out Buenos Aires in an exclusive interview. Murder in a Small Town holds special significance for its lead because of the family history surrounding the project. For more than three decades, his father, acclaimed actor Donald Sutherland, championed an adaptation of L.R. Wright’s Karl Alberg novels, hoping to bring them to the big screen. Although that version never came to fruition, the actor knew before his death that his son would ultimately play Kar

Pablo MunneSport

The best places to eat at the airport, based on your travel mood

There was a time when arriving early at the airport meant one thing: waiting. Between check-in, security checks and boarding, the plan was usually limited to a rushed coffee or a quick stroll through the duty-free shops. But that has changed. Today, more and more travelers choose to arrive early because the journey begins long before takeoff. Dining has taken center stage, turning the hours before a flight into an opportunity to pause, share a meal or enjoy that first moment of switching off. Choosing where and what to eat is now part of the travel experience. Whether it's breakfast before an early flight, a leisurely lunch, a toast with your partner, a family meal or a charcuterie board with friends before departure, Aeropuertos Argentina offers something for every occasion. 1. For pre-flight drinks with friends: Sport Bar and Hard Rock Café If you're traveling with friends, the fun can start long before boarding is announced. Sport Bar recreates the atmosphere of a sports bar, with big screens showing live games and stadium-style seating that makes waiting for your flight feel more like game day than airport time. With an ice-cold beer on the table, waiting becomes much more enjoyable. The chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato is perfect for those looking for a satisfying meal before flying, while the empanadas are made for sharing while catching up. By the time boarding begins, the pre-flight hangout has already become part of the trip.   Pablo MunneSport Bar At Hard

Canelones: The True Story Behind Hernán Casciari's New Film

Some stories end on the last page. Canelones only began there. Hernán Casciari wrote the short story in 2005, but years later it set off a chain of unexpected events that have now made their way to the big screen. Inspired by those real-life events, Canelones follows the kidnapping of Chichita, Hernán Casciari's mother, by Daniel Olesnik, a man seeking revenge for a prank phone call made nearly 30 years earlier. Set over the course of a single night, the film blends psychological thriller with dark comedy to explore guilt, revenge and forgiveness. CanelonesPelícula The Day Canelones Stopped Being Just a Story "Canelones is a short story I wrote in 2005, and this film is a consequence of that story." With those words, Hernán Casciari sums up the starting point of the feature film. The turning point came in 2013, when he read the story aloud on the radio show Perros de la Calle, several years after writing it. "One of the people featured in the story—someone I didn't know—heard it, and it triggered a series of very dangerous events, especially for my mother. Those are the events this film tells," Hernán explains. The original story was inspired by a prank phone call Casciari and a friend made as teenagers. Years later, that anecdote unexpectedly resurfaced in his life and ultimately became the foundation for the film. "The movie is a rather sad way of washing away that guilt," the writer admits. Buenos Aires has added another name to the international culinary scene: Nika Club Omakase has been selected among the restaurants recommended by the MICHELIN Guide Buenos Aires 2026. The recognition celebrates more than a decade of dedication to omakase, the Japanese dining tradition built on trust between chef and guest, which the restaurant introduced to the local scene with its own distinctive approach. Since opening in 2012, Nika has built an identity that combines Japanese technique, contemporary creativity, and a 100% gluten-free philosophy. With its sushi counter, live-fire kitchen, house-made ferments, and constant pursuit of refinement, the restaurant has become one of Buenos Aires' leading destinations for Japanese cuisine. Guía Michelin2026 Nika Club Omakase and a Decade of Signature Japanese Cuisine For Nika, this recognition validates a journey that began more than ten years ago.
