Mate is more than an infusion: it’s a social code, a daily ritual, and one of the most deeply rooted traditions in Argentine identity. That’s why on December 7, Buenos Aires pays tribute to National Mate Day (officially November 30) with Mate BA, a free, open event where you can taste, learn, and share. From 11am to 7pm, Av. de Mayo between Bernardo de Irigoyen and Piedras becomes a mate corridor with producers, entrepreneurs, live music, and the official opening of the Mate Museum (Av. de Mayo 853). Bringing your own mate is more than welcome—it’s part of the plan.

Mate BA: What You’ll Find

Mate fair: Over 30 producers of yerba mate, gourds, bombillas and accessories from different regions of the country. Perfect for discovering special blends, mild or intense notes, traditional, agroecological, and innovative mixes.

Traditional food: Nine food stalls offering perfect bites to pair with your mate session: Mautino, Foodtruck Argentina, Rincón Criollo, Good Papas, Merienda, El Hornero, Chipa Gourmet, Volta, and Combipochoclera.
