Mendoza Sounds Off: 18 Shows and Festivals to Add to Your Next Getaway

It’s not a tribute, nor a movie, and certainly not a new version of Soda Stereo. ECOS proposes something much harder to explain until you see it: bringing Gustavo Cerati, Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio together on the same stage once again. While Charly and Zeta perform the songs live, cutting-edge technology integrates a realistic representation of Gustavo into the production, in a spectacle where music, images, lights and technology seek to blur the line between reality and the impossible for a while.

After traveling through Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru and Colombia, and being seen by more than 500,000 people, the phenomenon arrives in Mendoza as part of a tour that continues to expand internationally. Behind it is an extensive effort involving creative teams, technicians and specialists to create an experience that does not seek to replace Soda or add a new voice, but rather to reconnect with the songs of one of the most important bands in Spanish-language rock through an unprecedented format.

The detail: The show is directly inspired by ABBA Voyage. Both use a combination of artificial intelligence, 3D rendering, motion capture and hyper-realistic digital projections to recreate the musicians on stage alongside a live band.

Here, finding a good spot in front of the DJ booth isn’t enough. Maal Max Evolution proposes exactly the opposite: moving around. On Sunday, August 23, Maal Wines once again transforms into its own little universe. The great novelty of this format is that there isn’t just one possible experience: while the main dance floor follows its own musical journey, other corners of the winery are happening simultaneously, allowing each person to create their own route.

The music will kick off at 5pm with Alfre Merlo, followed by LØVØ, with Agents Of Time as the main closing act. The Italian duo blends melodic techno, house, acid and ambient sounds and has released music through labels such as Afterlife. But Maal Max also has one of its most entertaining scenes inside its now-iconic converted bus, a parallel dance floor where the electronic music takes a different turn and cachengue takes over.

The detail: The food offering is created by Parador del Maal, the winery’s regular dining experience: a relaxed proposal featuring pizzas, empanadas and milanesa sandwiches to recharge between sets.

Fatboy Slim belongs to the ranks of legendary DJs who helped make electronic music culture a global phenomenon. Bringing his trademark energy, the British DJ will arrive at Club Hípico Mendoza on September 4 for an open-air date starting at 5pm, with all the ingredients to become one of the season’s biggest shows.

Behind Fatboy Slim is Norman Cook, musician, producer and one of the key figures of big beat, the explosive blend of electronic music, hip-hop, rock and samples that took over dance floors in the 1990s. “Praise You,” “Right Here, Right Now,” “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Weapon of Choice” are just some of the hits that went beyond clubs to appear in movies, commercials and the collective memory of several generations.

The detail: Fatboy Slim will make only two appearances in Argentina, and Mendoza will host the most special one: the only open-air date. More than 4,000 people will be able to experience the British DJ’s energy outdoors at an unmissable festival.

Some bands are listened to, while others inevitably get celebrated. Kapanga belongs firmly to the second category. On Saturday, September 5, the band arrives at Auditorio Ángel Bustelo to celebrate three decades of songs, roads and stages with a show that will revisit a repertoire where rock, ska, cuarteto and humor have always coexisted. The response in Mendoza already hints at the atmosphere: the first three presales sold out, and tickets are currently available in the fourth phase.

The “30 Años” tour finds the band revisiting its history without getting stuck in nostalgia. In Mendoza, the celebration begins at 8pm, with Hidalgo y sus Galácticos as the opening act.

The detail: From Damas Gratis to Milo J and Bandalos Chinos, their recent collaborations work as an unexpected bridge between scenes that may seem very different, but are well worth experiencing live.

What if, instead of thinking of it as a wine fair, we thought of it as a festival where wine is also part of the lineup? That’s the idea behind Vino a la Nave, the event returning to Nave Cultural on Saturday, September 5, from 6pm. Between 20 and 25 wineries, food, art and visual installations set the stage for a performance by Silvestre y La Naranja, one of the bands shaping the pulse of Argentina’s new music scene.

The key is to wander and taste without too many formalities. Each attendee receives a reusable wine glass to sample wines from major wineries, small producers and emerging projects while different experiences take place throughout the venue. Music is an essential part of the formula: previous editions have featured Emmanuel Horvilleur, Gauchito Club, Koino Yokan, El Zar, Mi Amigo Invencible and Pasado Verde, among others.

The detail: Vino a la Nave is designed so wine and music coexist throughout the entire experience, turning the glass into a kind of companion for the journey, alongside hydration stations and responsible-drinking initiatives.

After the scale and energy of the Jet Love Tour, Mateo Sujatovich proposes exactly the opposite: stripping away everything surrounding the songs to reconnect with them. On Saturday, September 12, Conociendo Rusia arrives at Teatro Mendoza with Mateo, an intimate show in which he will take the stage without a band, accompanied only by his voice and instruments.

The format isn’t entirely new for him. In 2023, his Solo Tour traveled through more than twenty cities in six countries and sold out five shows at Gran Rex. Now he revisits that experience and takes it even further: Mateo will travel to more than 50 cities across 20 countries, beginning with Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Colombia.

The detail: Each night will leave room for silence, improvisation and songs that can change when reduced to their simplest expression. As he himself describes this new chapter, it is a tour that is “bare, vulnerable and alive.”

There are places where you go to listen to music, and others where the landscape ultimately becomes part of the lineup. Las Palapas definitely belongs to the second group. Starting September 17, the Potrerillos venue launches its 2026/27 season under a new concept, Bitácora del Viento. Each date will be a stop on the same journey through electronic music, sunsets and outdoor gatherings, beginning with Hot Since 82 and continuing through December.

The lineup brings together international and local names including Héctor Couto, Silvie Loto, Danny Howells, Mateo Dufour, Matías Sundblad, Eze Ramírez and Lefrak, among others, as well as a Woodstock 69 edition in Mendoza. One of the highlights will come during the first weekend of December, with Pre Sunsetstrip Hernán Cattaneo 2026 on December 4 and a special date closing the season on December 6.

The detail: This season, Mendoza residents will have a special benefit: 30% off tickets, with limited availability, upon validating residency with a national ID.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs return to Mendoza on Saturday, September 19, for a date celebrating no less than four decades of history. The LFC Tour 2026 · 40 Aniversario will arrive at the Frank Romero Day Greek Theater as part of a world tour through Latin America, the United States and Europe, with Vicentico and Flavio Cianciarulo leading a band that turned its blend of rock, ska, reggae and Latin rhythms into part of the popular songbook.

And there’s a stage worthy of the occasion: Frank Romero Day, surrounded by hills and under the open sky. “Matador,” “Vasos Vacíos,” “Mal Bicho,” “Siguiendo la Luna” and other anthems that have crossed generations will once again ring out there. Forty years, thousands of people and a night beneath the stars: a combination that makes the Mendoza date one of the stops to mark on the anniversary tour.

The detail: If you need proof that the Cadillacs are still playing in the big leagues, look no further than one of their recent shows: in 2023 they brought around 300,000 people to Mexico City’s Zócalo, a turnout that set a record at the time for concerts held in the square.

After a sold-out first edition, Mastai Fiesta de la Cerveza del Sur Mendocino returns on Saturday, September 26, to the Predio Ferial de General Alvear, and this time it is going bigger. There will be four stages and a lineup spanning generations and genres, with Divididos, León Gieco & La Vitale Band, La Delio Valdez, Bandalos Chinos, Lisandro Aristimuño, Kapanga, Yami Safdie, Cruzando el Charco and Maggie Cullen, among many others, plus a strong presence from artists from Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis.

That mix is precisely the appeal: in a single day, you can go from Divididos’ rock to La Delio’s cumbia, hear León Gieco’s songs or discover artists from the Cuyo region, while beer, food and recreational activities round out the plan.

Before starting a new chapter, you have to celebrate the one that changed everything. Gauchito Club is hitting the road to say goodbye to Vulnerable, the album that accompanied the biggest leap in their career, and on Saturday, October 3, they will arrive in Mendoza for one of those shows with extra meaning. The concert will take place at La Sala Club, at Bodega Giol, in a deliberately more intimate format than the major stages the band has conquered over the past two years.

Gauchito sold out Obras and appeared at Lollapalooza Argentina, Cosquín Rock, Quilmes Rock and Buena Vibra; they filled Arena Maipú and crossed the Atlantic again for a European tour that included a sold-out show at Barcelona’s legendary Sala Apolo. Now, while working on their next album, they return home to perform the repertoire one last time that helped turn them into one of Mendoza’s most internationally promising bands.

The detail: The tour is moving through more intimate venues to recover that direct connection with the audience that has been there since the beginning and get closer to them once again.

On November 8, the greenery of Club Hípico Mendoza will once again become a dance floor for a new edition of Primavera Folk, a festival combining electronic music, nature and the springtime atmosphere of Mendoza that practically begs you to spend the entire day outdoors.

This year, the festival raises the stakes with two international names at the top of the lineup: Beltran, a Brazilian DJ and producer, and Carlita, a Turkish artist who has been building a strong presence in the global electronic music scene. They will be joined by Nacho Bolognani B2B Ludmila Di Pasquale and RZMD vs Chakbeat, in a lineup designed to accompany the journey from daylight into the night.

The detail: This year’s location adds a special touch: Primavera Folck takes place inside Parque General San Martín just as one of Mendoza’s great green landmarks celebrates its 130th anniversary.

Some songs belong to a particular era, while others manage to transcend them all. David Lebón and Pedro Aznar once again proved that their songs continue to cross generations with Serú Girán por Lebón y Aznar, a more-than-two-hour show that sold out weeks before its first performance and made one thing clear: it had to happen again. The new date will be November 12 at Arena Maipú Stadium.

This isn’t simply a matter of playing old classics again. Lebón and Aznar revisit from the present the history they built alongside Charly García and Oscar Moro, accompanied by a band and a lighting and visual production inspired by the world of Serú Girán. The set includes 24 songs, from “Canción de Alicia en el País,” “Viernes 3 AM” and “Peperina” to “Seminare,” as well as moments devoted to García’s compositions and a tribute to Moro.

The detail: The relationship both artists have with Mendoza goes far beyond this tour. David Lebón lived in the province for 12 years, while Pedro Aznar has had his own Mendoza wine for years.

On November 14, the band led by Julián Kartún returns to Mendoza to perform at Auditorio Ángel Bustelo, this time with Díscolo in tow. Their sixth studio album opens a new chapter in which imperfection, spontaneity and craftsmanship become part of the identity of songs that once again move freely between styles.

Released in May, Díscolo features collaborations with No Te Va Gustar, El Kanka and Chango Spasiuk, as well as songs such as La Máquina, Barry Lindo and Epifanía. The Mendoza date is part of a tour that has already passed through Chile and will continue through different cities in Argentina and Spain.

The detail: It will be El Kuelgue’s first time performing at Auditorio Ángel Bustelo, a new and imposing venue, suggesting a major production and ambitious staging for the presentation of their new album.

If there’s one genre that seems to have found its natural stage in Mendoza’s sunsets, it’s melodic techno. On November 21, just a few weeks after Primavera Folck, Club Hípico Mendoza will light up once again with the arrival of Massano, the Liverpool DJ and producer who has become one of the leading names in the new generation of melodic electronic music and has developed a special relationship with Argentine audiences.

His sound moves between immersive melodies, progressive beats and moments of great intensity, a formula that has taken him to labels such as Afterlife and Oddity, as well as leading him to create his own label, Eternity Sounds, and earn the support of figures including Tale Of Us, Mind Against and Mathame.

The detail: Massano recently described Argentina as his “second home” when announcing his return to the country, saying that local audiences have given him some of the best moments of his career.

Rock will also have its major outdoor event this spring. La Renga returns to Mendoza on Saturday, November 21, taking over one of the province’s most impressive venues: the Frank Romero Day Greek Theater. The band led by Gustavo “Chizzo” Nápoli returns to Mendoza after their February 2025 performance in San Rafael, this time with a show expected to attract thousands of fans.

And the venue is no minor detail. Built among the hills and known throughout Argentina as the home of the Central Act of the Vendimia, Frank Romero Day combines scale, landscape and open skies in a way that can turn a concert into a completely different experience.

The detail: The number 73 has become a sacred symbol for La Renga fans. In traditional Argentine lottery slang, 73 corresponds to “el rengo” (“the lame man”), which is why March 7 (7/3) is informally celebrated as the day of the band’s followers, popularly known as “Los mismos de siempre.”

On December 5 and 6, Sunsetstrip returns to Gran Hotel Potrerillos to close its 2026 season with two days in which progressive house, sunset and the Andes function as parts of the same production. After traveling through Buenos Aires and making its debut in Madrid, the series led by Hernán Cattaneo returns to Mendoza, a destination that has already become one of the project’s great international postcards.

On Saturday 5, Cattaneo will be joined by Âme in DJ Set format, the Argentine duo Soundexile and Greta Meier for the warm-up. Sunday 6 will have a different rhythm: Fran Bux will open the day, which will culminate in one of the moments most eagerly anticipated by fans of the Argentine DJ: Hernán Cattaneo’s extended set.

The detail: Mendoza is not simply another stop on Sunsetstrip. The relationship between the show and Potrerillos has become a phenomenon in its own right: since its beginnings in 2019, the event brought together more than 22,000 people over three days last year and once again put the province on the international electronic music map.

Arcana has built its identity around making the landscape part of the experience. The festival combines electronic music, art, design, food and carefully crafted immersive production in natural settings, with editions that have already made an impact in Mendoza and taken the concept to destinations such as Entre Ríos and Punta del Este.

In December, Arcana Tour 2026 returns to Cacheuta for another gathering among the mountains. The announced dates are December 5 and 7, and for now the festival is keeping one of its biggest mysteries under wraps: the DJ lineup for both days has not yet been revealed.

The detail: Two-day festival tickets are already on sale at a very accessible early-bird price, ahead of the DJ lineup announcement. An opportunity for those who already have their trip planned.

We still don’t know the dates or lineup for the 2026 Provincial Beer Festival, but there are plenty of reasons to save a spot for it on your end-of-year calendar. The Godoy Cruz classic is coming off a historic edition: in 2025 it returned to the Mendoza Hippodrome, a venue that allowed it to grow in scale, comfort and production, and brought together more than 100,000 people over three days.

The stage hosted Cazzu, Molotov, Maria Becerra, Ciro y Los Persas, Damas Gratis, La K’onga and numerous Mendoza-based artists, in a lineup spanning rock, trap, cumbia and cuarteto.

The detail: The 2026 edition has not yet been officially announced, but you can already start thinking about a getaway to Mendoza for the December long weekend, which traditionally coincides with this celebration.
