MUBI FEST 2026 has confirmed its dates and lineup. From October 22 to 25, the fourth edition of the international film festival will take place at Cinépolis Houssay. Over four days, it will bring together a selection of contemporary films, independent cinema and classics that have shaped the history of the seventh art.
The lineup offers a journey through different eras, genres and film industries. There will be films premiering for the first time in Argentina, recent Cannes award winners, works by acclaimed filmmakers and a selection dedicated to Argentine cinema. In addition, some classics will be screened in 4K, as part of an event designed to turn the festival into a meeting point for film lovers both inside and outside the cinema.
What to expect from MUBI FEST 2026
MUBI FEST goes beyond film screenings. The festival offers a live experience that combines big-screen films with talks and conversations featuring figures from Argentine culture, live music performances and outdoor artistic activities. The idea is to bring back cinema as a collective experience and turn every screening into a meeting point for film lovers, artists and cultural communities.
In previous editions, MUBI FEST featured talks and masterclasses with figures such as Lucrecia Martel, Mercedes Morán and Rodrigo Moreno, as well as special events including an outdoor screening of Twin Peaks, by David Lynch. Last year's edition attracted more than 8,000 people, with 21 films and 45 screenings, including the Argentine premieres of It Was Just an Accident, Sentimental Value and The Secret Agent, all titles recognized at Cannes.
In 2026, MUBI FEST returns to Buenos Aires from October 22 to 25 for a new edition bringing together cinema, culture and community. The full lineup and ticket information will be announced soon.
From Cannes to Buenos Aires: award-winning cinema at MUBI FEST
One of the main focuses of MUBI FEST Buenos Aires 2026 will be films that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The lineup includes some of the titles that stood out at the most recent edition of the French festival, with a selection ranging from horror and thrillers to drama and auteur cinema.
Among the films coming to the festival is The Chronology of Water, by Jane Schoenbrun, winner of the Queer Palm at Cannes. Audiences will also be able to see Hope: The First Strike, the new film by South Korean director Na Hong-jin, and The Seduction, by Nicolas Winding Refn.
Another highlight is Fatherland, by Paweł Pawlikowski, which won the Best Director award at Cannes. The film stars Sandra Hüller and rounds out a selection of titles presented at some of the year's leading international film festivals.

MUBI, much more than a streaming platform
MUBI is a streaming platform, but it also operates as a curator, distributor and film programmer. Its catalog brings together films and series selected by a team of curators, with a focus on established filmmakers and emerging talent from around the world.
Beyond its streaming platform, MUBI brings films to cinemas through its theatrical releases and special events. Its team travels to international film festivals in search of new and original films to distribute on the big screen. The offering is complemented by themed collections, retrospectives and a specialist publication, MUBI Notebook, featuring interviews, reviews and content about contemporary and classic cinema.
In Buenos Aires, this curatorial approach is also reflected in MUBI FEST, which brings together four days of international films, premieres, award-winning titles and classics to be experienced on the big screen.
