Got a dog? Then you know there’s no better plan than going out to eat and bringing them along. Sure, walks are great, but what if we add good food, drinks, and trendy spots where your furry companion is more than welcome? In this article, we’re not just sharing pet-friendly spots, but also a selection of places that truly stand out: from cafés offering doggie treats to restaurants that prepare their own special dishes for them.

Plans for a snack, a night out, or lounging in style on a sidewalk—here are the gems for you and your four-legged friend.

1. Merope

Because your best friend loves tasty things too, at this Colombian-inspired restaurant, you'll find a doggy menu with muffins and cookies made of chicken and carrot, and oatmeal and apple. And I don’t want to make you fall in love, but the cookies are shaped like bones and are so adorable, you won’t be able to stop taking pictures.

For humans, Merope offers great brunch options: if you like starting your day with eggs, you can choose from seven different types.

Tip: Try Cali, a typical Colombian passion fruit dessert. Delicious.

Where: Gurruchaga 1887, Palermo.

2. Bar Roma

Sometimes, what you want is a really good pizza paired with vermouth or a beer, at a table on the sidewalk. That’s where Roma comes in because the atmosphere is cool, and the place is historic (founded in 1927), but above all, what makes this restaurant special is that the pizza is AMAZING.

Put a leash on your dog and bring them along, you’ll see that the waiters are friendly and will bring them a little bowl of water. The best part: no one is left out, as there are vegan, vegetarian, and wheat-free options.

Tip: The corn empanada (vegan) is out of this world.

3. Rosie Café

This is the café of talented pastry chef Trinidad Benedetti—but she insists the real boss here is Tita Galletita, her dog. Sweet and calm, this four-legged companion welcomes guests, wanders between tables like a regular, and spreads that sense of happiness to other pets, which are welcome inside (on a leash) or can relax outside on the sidewalk tables or, in warmer weather, on the terrace.

The menu blends multiple traditions: from northeastern Argentina to France, with touches of Peru, Asia, and the Mediterranean. The counter is filled with cookies, scones, chipás, and a variety of laminated pastries (we strongly recommend the croissant), among other options. The Basque cake is a must-try, which you can order with a seasonal preserve. For lunch, there are sandwiches, salads, tarts, and a daily special. To drink, choose from filter coffee or espresso made with Full City Roasters beans, hot chocolate with butter cookies that evoke childhood, fresh juices of the day, and natural wines organized by intensity.

Good to know: the menu changes with the seasons, but there’s always a fixed-price lunch menu from Tuesday to Thursday, 12:30 to 4pm, which includes a main, a drink, and dessert or coffee.

Where: Ruiz Huidobro 3049, Saavedra.

4. Museo Evita Restaurant

What better than arriving at a lovely restaurant and seeing a sign that says: “Your pet is welcome”? Museo Evita Restaurant is trendy for a reason: not only is the food amazing, especially for tea time, but the space is special: a wide, green, magical patio, ideal for going with your four-legged friend, who will surely get a special doggie cookie as a gift. It’s not super cheap, but it’s worth the visit.

5. Hacienda Coffee Company

At Hacienda Coffee Company, you can hang out with your dog inside or outside the café. This location is in Palermo, a trendy area with lots of fashion stores, so it could be a good stop after a shopping spree. They have excellent brunch options to share (we tried the BERINGER and loved it) and specialty coffee.

Tip: If you like tequeños, rejoice because Hacienda has them, and they’re amazing!

Where: Armenia 1929, Palermo.

6. Surry Hills Coffee

This café is different from the rest. It’s inspired by the famous Surry Hills neighborhood in Sydney, which, if you walk through it, is filled with hipster cafés… And we’re not sure if it’s the surfer-style aesthetic, the bacon and egg sandwich, or that incredible coffee (we had a highly recommended Americano), but brunching at Surry Hills Coffee makes you feel like you’re on a trip. Bring your dog along, they’re very welcome, and you’ll feel like you’re in Australia.

Where: Arevalo 2877, Cañitas.

Bonus track: Mirtha Café

When we think of Mirtha Café, three things come to mind: 1. The decor is ultra-feminine and all pink, perfect for content creation. 2. It’s “extra pet-friendly”: they have buckets with free snacks for dogs, and the waiters give out doggy candy bags. 3. Mirtha exists! She’s Valentina Salezzi’s English bulldog, the influencer who owns the café. Definitely worth a visit.

Tip: For your furry friend, there’s a complete pet-friendly menu, with a main dish and dessert. Because if we eat, we all eat.

Where: Av. Colón 2653 and Av. Carlos Tejedor 698, Mar del Plata.
